Listen! It’s the voice of someone shouting, “Clear the way through the wilderness for the Lord! Make a straight highway through the wasteland for our God!
Fill in the valleys, and level the mountains and hills. Straighten the curves, and smooth out the rough places. Then the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it together. The Lord has spoken!

Isaiah 40:3-5
Pray with me:
Holy Child of Bethlehem, guide your people on this advent journey that we may follow your way of peace. Make us instruments of your peace. Open our hearts to experience how the arrival of Christ makes all things new.

Sunday, we light the second candle of Advent. We light a candle for peace. Yet, if you read the above text, the very same words that John the Baptizer shares as he begins his ministry of repentance in the desert, it seems like an un-peaceful moment. I seldom, if ever would equate someone shouting to a moment of peace.

Yet, in a world of pandemics: COVID-19, systemic racism, gun violence & extreme politics, we need peace. We need repentance. Repentance is most often thought of as a humble moment of resignation that we have been or have acted wrong. This can be part of repentance. An overlooked part of repentance is changing the way that we think and live.
Where is God speaking in your life? Where are you being invited to change the way that you think and live? What step toward God will be a step of peace for others? Can’t wait to worship with you this weekend online or in-person. You matter to God and to me.
Grace and peace.
Rev. Dr. Duane A. Anders (he, him, his)

Join us on Sunday, December 5th as we sing carols that night. We will gather from 5-7pm with music beginning at 5:30pm. KIDS WELCOME (Kid packs and board games provided)! We will be indoors, unless the weather permits us to use the outdoor gathering space at the brewery. Bring a friend, buy a beer, sing some songs! Masks encouraged! This will be the last Beers & Hymns for 2021, but stay tuned for where we will be meeting in 2022!

*Note: There will not be a food truck at the brewery. Please plan to eat dinner before or after.

Holy Land Pilgrimage 2022 - Informational Meeting
December 5th • 3:00pm • Downtown Campus

A pilgrimage is a journey, often into an unknown or foreign place, where a person goes in search of new or expanded meaning about their self, others, nature, or a higher good, through the experience. It can lead to a personal transformation, after which the pilgrim returns to their daily life.

In the Fall of 2022, Pastor Duane will lead a Holy Land Pilgrimage to walk where Jesus walked. We will be having an informational meeting December 5th at 3pm

For more information, please email us.

Christmas Food Boxes
December 11th  •  10am-12pm  • Downtown Campus

With the uncertainties of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to do Christmas Food Boxes with the same, modified process of last year, in order to minimize the risks to volunteers. We hope this will fill the need and provide you with the joy of giving, without putting anyone in harm’s way.

Two ways you can help:

  • Pick up an address on December 11th - FILL A BOX - DELIVER SOME JOY!
    • Click HERE for more details if you’d like to purchase and deliver food boxes to a recipient family on December 11th.
  • Donate for Winco Gift Cards
    • Click HERE for more information about making the needed donations for Winco gift cards to recipient families who do not get a food box.

Thanks to all who can help sustain the Christmas Food Box project during this Christmas season for families in need.

Contact Pete for any questions.
