Worship Service Times

The Cathedral of the Rockies offers a variety of worship services, each with its own unique and distinct worship style to meet the diverse needs of our congregation.   We would be honored to have you join us this Sunday!  Click here for information on our current sermon series.

Sunday Worship Services:

• 9:00am –  Traditional in the Sanctuary
• 10:00am — Contemporary in the Emmaus Center
• 11:00am — Traditional in the Sanctuary
• 11:30am — Contemporary in the Emmaus Center

Our worship services are designed to help us experience the transformational power of God’s grace and to give thanks to God for the wonderful gift of Jesus Christ. Pastor Steve Tollefson preaches at the 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 and 11:30am services.

9:00am Traditional service in the Sanctuary with pipe organ and orchestra. Children & youth choirs combine with bell choirs and other ensembles to lift liturgy to a new level of relevant worship.

10:00am Blue Jeans worship in the Emmaus Center is upbeat with a band playing a mix of rock, folk, and contemporary Christian music.

11:00am Traditional service in the Sanctuary featuring pipe organ, orchestra and choir.  Children’s choirs, handbells, and a children’s message create the perfect environment for growing families.

11:30am Contemporary service in the Emmaus Center.  The relaxed atmosphere generates a community feeling with praise and dynamic music.  Communion served weekly.

Communion is served on the first Sunday of the month at all morning worship services, the third Sunday of the month after worship in the Cana Chapel, and each Sunday during the 11:30am and at 4:00pm in the Fellowship Hall prior to Friendship Feast.

Childcare is offered during every morning worship service, although children are always welcome to remain in worship.

Sunday School is offered at 10, 11 and 11:30am during the summer months.  Fall Sunday School begins on September 11 at 9am, 10am, 11am and 11:30am.  Our Children’s Ministry program will enrich the life of each child and bring biblical lessons and stories to life through the use of computers, cooking, drama, art and storytelling.

In addition to our regularly scheduled weekly worship services the following services are offered annually:

• Ash Wednesday
• Maundy Thursday
• Good Friday
• Holy Saturday Baptism
• Pet Blessing
• Christmas Eve Candlelight
• Healing Services
• Prayer Vigil

The Sacraments

Holy Communion is served on the first Sunday of every month as part of every the worship service. On the third Sunday, communion is served in the Cana Chapel after every service.  Holy Communion is also served every Sunday at the 11:30am service and at 4:00pm in the Fellowship Hall prior to Friendship Feast as part of our outreach to the less fortunate in our community. If you would like to receive communion in your home, please call the church office at 343-7511 to make arrangements. In the United Methodist Church, Communion is open to everyone who wishes to receive it.

Baptisms are scheduled to take place during worship. Baptism classes are held the second Sunday of every month in the upstairs Conference Room. You may call or e-mail Nancy Troy at the church office to schedule a baptism. No one is denied baptism for any reason – you do not have to be a member of the church to be baptized or to have a child baptized.
A special Holy Saturday baptism service is held on Easter Eve. This service has been especially popular with families that have not had extensive church experience.  E-mail Nancy Troy if you would like more information about this service.

Weddings and Funerals

We recognize marriage as a precious and sacred gift from God, and we are honored that so many couples choose to begin their married life with a wedding ceremony at the Cathedral.  Please see Weddings for details about how to schedule and plan your wedding.
Funerals and Memorial Services can be scheduled through a funeral home, or by calling the church office.  A pastor will meet with you to guide you through the process of planning the service. Services can be held in the Sanctuary, Emmaus Center or the smaller Cana Chapel.  Costs vary.  Reception space is also available.
