WORSHIP MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES
Communion Preparation: Prepare the bread and juice on the 1st Sunday of the month or the 3rd Sunday to place on the communion table. To help, please call coordinators:

Communion Servers: Communion volunteers serve communion on the first Sunday of the month. The pastor consecrates the elements and hands them to the servers who then proceed to serve the congregation bread and juice. To serve, please call coordinators:

MINISTRY OF MUSIC AND WORSHIP ARTS
Since 1952, the Ministry of Music and Worship Arts has sought to create more deeply committed Christians through art and music.

Youth Choir Mission Tour: The Epworth Chorale and Cathedral Bell Choir embarks on an annual mission tour each year. Prior tours have included the US Northwest, California, US Southwest, Canada and Upstate New York.
CONNECTION MINISTRY
Greeters: Arrive 20 minutes before the service, and stand at the exit doors and greet all people who come into the church. In good weather, open the doors and stand outside. Offer assistance for those who need help getting into the church. Use the large umbrellas during rainy weather. Direct first time visitors or people with questions to the hospitality desk.

Sunday Hospitality Desk: Serve at hospitality desk during one worship service on Sunday morning. Offer information about programs and ministries and the church in general, answer phones, process attendance registration forms, take messages for staff.

Coffee with the Pastors: Be a Host for this New Membership Gathering every other month on the 4th Sunday of the month. Provide cookies and put together information packets.

Mug Ministry: Volunteers are needed to make an initial welcome visit by delivering a Cathedral of the Rockies mug to first-time visitors after worship on Sundays.

Wonderful Wednesdays: From September through May each Wednesday night we host a dinner after kid’s choirs and before adult studies. Help with this great mid-week event by being a host to greet folks as they come in.

Meals Ministry: A group of volunteers who are ready to prepare and/or deliver a meal to a church family who needs help due to a birth, death, hospitalization or extended illness.

ADULT DISCIPLESHIP AND SPIRITUAL GROWTH
ALPHA: A 10-week course discovering the basic Christian principles of the faith and offers an opportunity for discussion in small groups for further faith development. Be a group leader or help with coordination, phone calling, and administrative support.

Small Group Ministry: The Small Groups Ministries at the Cathedral of the Rockies provides opportunities for spiritual growth, friendship and community with one another. We believe our small group ministry plays a vital role in growing our relationship with God. Our spiritual journey is supported, encouraged, challenged and celebrated through participation in the Small Group Ministry. Start a new small group, join an existing small group, or help research materials and coordinate the small group ministry.

Learning Communities: Classes or Learning Communities at the Cathedral are ways to be introduced to spiritual topics led by experienced teachers or pastors. Learning Communities are offered on Sunday mornings and on Wednesday evenings and offer opportunities to grow theologically as well as examine specific issues and practices related to faith. Offer to lead a class, coordinate classes or research study materials.

PRAYER
Prayer Vigil Team: Meet to pray for the needs of those who request prayer on Thursdays at noon or in your own home on the prayer chain. Also, join with others on a team to organize prayer opportunities at special times throughout the year.

MISSIONS
Coat and Blanket Drive: Help sort the hundreds of items that are donated for the annual coat and blanket drive that are given to those in need on a daily basis.
- Coordinator: Sponsored by the Finance Committee.
CROP Walk: Held annually in October which benefits the Boise area as well as hunger initiatives all over the world. The 10K walk seeks walkers and sponsors and is ecumenical with a community spirit. Help organize and publicize our Cathedral of the Rockies team.

FaithWork: Monthly outreach projects that usually occur on Saturdays. FaithWork provides an opportunity to serve in the community where the need is the greatest and to be a face for Christ and our church in the community. Volunteer for an event…help plan an event.

Friendship Feast and the Thanksgiving Feast: Sunday at 5pm and 6pm on the third Thursday of each month, meals are provided for people in need. We serve from 50 to 110 people. A team of volunteers takes turns being the lead cook(s) for a meal each month, and rely on additional volunteers to help with preparations, serving, and cleanup. The helpers work from 4-6pm on Sundays and 5-7pm on the third Thursday.

Christmas Food Boxes: Two weeks before Christmas, food is purchased for approximately 200 families in need. Volunteers are needed to offer financial support, administrative help, assemble and deliver these treasured food boxes.

Food Pantry Lunch Bags: Once a month, bags are handed out to the congregation to be filled with the items listed on the outside of the bag and returned to the church to give to the less fortunate who come to the church in need on a daily basis. Help is needed to assemble the bags to give to the congregation, sort the bags when they come in, and add final items to have them ready to give away.

Peru Mission Trips: Make a difference in the lives of the people of Peru and Bolivia and see that part of the world at the same time. Work with Volunteers in Mission in the Methodist Church on trips that focus on health, construction, education, or ministry.

Mitten Tree: Hundreds of mittens, scarves and gloves of all sizes are donated during November and December and given to those in need. Help display and deliver items.

Attic Store: The attic store has an ever changing variety of household items, jewelry, decorative, games, kitchenware, CD’s and DVD’s. Every purchase supports our local missions and Good Sam fund which meets the needs of those in crisis. Help organize and run the store.

Church Bulletin Stuffers: Every Friday at 1pm a group meets at the church to prepare the Sunday Bulletins. Everyone is welcome.

Library: New books are added on a regular basis. There are two locations to check out books: the transitional are between the sanctuaries and in the Gate of the Garden adjacent to the Fellowship Hall and directly behind the Emmaus Center.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
Sunday School: Our children’s ministry is looking for willing hearts to serve God’s children with your time and talents. Consider the following opportunities at 9am, 10am, 11am, or 11:30am on Sunday Mornings:
- Preschool and Kindergarten: Teacher, Assistant Teacher, Parent Helper/Greeter’s Desk
- Elementary: Art, Computer, Cooking, Drama, Movies, Science, Storytelling, Music
Special Events: Help coordinate annual events with set up, decorating, phone calling, publicity, preparation, clean-up:
- Harvest Festival and Easter Eggstravaganza
Vacation Bible School: Week long morning camp teaches children about God through fun filled curriculum. VBS takes place the first week of August each year. Volunteer opportunities: Crafts, Games, Drama, Music, Snacks, Administrative Help, Decorating, Phone calling, Crew Leaders and Crew Leader Helpers. We also have work prior to VBS that would be very helpful.

YOUTH MINISTRY
Junior High and Senior High Youth Ministry: Our Beloved Youth Ministry exists to bring junior high and high school students to a place where they are welcomed and loved; where they learn to grow in their faith and have fun in the process. Funky Monkeys: For 5th and 6th graders on Sunday mornings from 10-11am in the Activity Room. We have excellent curriculum, but we always need teachers!

Jr. and Sr. High Restoration: Leads students deeper into their understanding of Christ during the 10am hour in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday mornings. Assistance is needed to plan and implement events.

Sr. High Girl’s Group: This amazing support group offers girls grades 9 to 12 a safe, loving environment in which they can be themselves and grow into the women they were designed to be. Sundays from 12:30-2pm at “The Loft” in the Fellowship Hall. Help with special events, snacks, program ideas.

Wednesday Evening Youth Group: Help coordinate events and activities that are held from 6pm to 8:0pm each Wednesday night in the Fellowship Hall and the Loft.

Confirmation: For youth (8th to 12th grade) wanting to join the church, Confirmation is a 10 week journey of growth and faith to affirm vows made for them at their baptism. Become a mentor to a young person, help coordinate classes and events.

Quaker Hill Retreat: Quaker Hill Camp and Conference Center in McCall, late February or early March. The annual retreat features a weekend of snow tubing, hot springs, broom hockey, games, spiritual renewal, friends and more! Volunteers are needed to chaperone and to drive.

Summer Youth Mission Trip: Grades 7th – 12th. These trips allow the youth to travel to locations where they can gain hands-on experience in being the hands and feet of Christ in our world. Volunteers are needed to help plan, organize, chaperone and drive.

Church Camp and Retreats: Camping opportunities exist for all ages in a variety of settings around Oregon and Idaho. Camps may specialize in particular activities such as fishing, kayaking, horseback riding or knitting. There are a variety of family camps, camps for kids or camps for adults.
