Has Jesus suffered from identity theft?  The different ideas of who Jesus was and is vary from church to church and generation to generation.  Have we ‘tamed’ Jesus so that we feel comfortable being in his presence?  Mother Teresa stated that Jesus was a difficult man to live with!  Would that be similar to what the religious leaders of Jesus’ day felt?  Join Pastor Steve Tollefson as we wrestle with these and other questions in a sermon series from September 12 to October 24, 2010 at all morning worship services.

The Sacraments

Holy Communion is served on the first Sunday of every month as part of the worship service. On the third Sunday, communion is served in the Cana Chapel after every service. Vespers and Communion is also served every Sunday at the 5:00PM service in Cana Chapel. If you would like to receive communion at your home, please call the church office to make arrangements. Communion is open to everyone who wishes to receive it.

Baptisms are scheduled to take place during worship. Baptism classes are held the second Sunday of every month in the upstairs Conference Room. You may call or e-mail Nancy Troy at the church office to schedule a baptism. No one is denied baptism for any reason – you do not have to be a member of the church to be baptized or to have a child baptized.

A special Holy Saturday baptism service is held on Easter Eve. This service has been especially popular with families that have not had extensive church experience. The service is held in the lobby of the Cathedral, gathered around the fountain. Call Pastor Sandi if you would like more information about this service.

Weddings and Funerals

We recognize marriage as a precious and sacred gift from God, and we are honored that so many couples choose to begin their married life with a wedding ceremony at the Cathedral. Please see Weddings for details about how to schedule and plan your wedding.

Funerals and Memorial Services can be scheduled through a funeral home, or by calling the church office. A pastor will meet with you to guide you through the process of planning the service. Services can be held in the Sanctuary, Emmaus Center or the smaller Cana Chapel. Costs vary. Reception space is also available.
