Children’s Music

As the music ministry celebrates its 60th anniversary at the Cathedral of the Rockies, exciting things are taking place!  Now, as part of Wonderful Wednesdays, your children can enjoy a spiritual journey through music and the arts while you explore new opportunities through adult discipleship classes and youth programs.  Please check out our children’s choirs as listed below and explore everything we can offer to you and your family!

For our youngest singers, the Ministry of Music offers two children’s ensembles:

CHERUB CHOIR (for 3 and 4 year olds born after September 1) Resumes February 20th

ANGELUS CHOIR (for 4 and 5 year olds born before September 1) Resumes February 6th

Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 4:30pm-5:00pm  and include choir and creative activities! These two choirs initiate the process of early music learning while making lifelong friends in a faith-based environment. Angelus Choir is also involved in the annual production of Christmas at the Cathedral (CATC).

CELEBRATIONS! (grades 1-3) provides an opportunity for young musicians to explore sacred music in a fun-filled, caring environment. Participants will be singing, exploring percussion and orff instruments, as well as continuing to develop bell ringing skills. Rehearsals resume January 9th.

Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 6:00pm-7:30pm, and include choir, bells, and creative activities! The Celebrations! sings every 4-6 weeks in the traditional and/or contemporary services as well as Christmas at the Cathedral (CATC).

For those youth in Grades 4-6, the Ministry of Music has two offerings:

WESLEY BOY CHORUS (for boys grades 4-6) Resumes January 9th

JUBILATION GIRL SINGERS (for girls grades 4-6) Resumes January 9th

The Wesley Boy choir tradition at Boise FUMC started in the 1960′s under the direction of David Wehr, and the Jubilation Singers is an all-girl ensemble with a long-standing tradition of excellence.

Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 6:00pm-7:30pm and include choir, bells, and creative activities! Both choirs sing for worship and for CATC. They also each embark on a fun-filled mystery tour each spring.

Choirs are starting up for the coming season soon, so go to this link to open and print out a Children’s Registration form!  All forms may be turned into the music ministry office.
